08 Oct BOOM Motion: Sharing is NOT Caring in New Pennsylvania Campaign

103,000 young adults in Pennsylvania report misusing prescription pain relievers in the past year.  Over 4,600 people in PA died of a drug-related overdose in 2016. 43% of young adults who misuse prescription pain relievers (e.g. Vicodin, OxyContin, Percocet) report getting them for free from a friend or relative. And the numbers have gone up.

BOOM collaborated with Washington and Fayette Counties’ drug and alcohol departments, and DDAP to create a new ad campaign for PAStop designed to raise awareness about the dangers of sharing prescription medications. These two :15 second video ads will be playing in theaters throughout the counties and nearby areas, marking the first PAStop initiative to directly target the 18-25 demographic.
